From renewable resources to valuable compounds and materials

With the background of the resource shift to renewable raw materials , industry needs new raw materials and routes to produce intermediates for existing and novel polymers and active ingredients. Furthermore , it is necessary to provide these with functional properties . This challenge is addressed by area 1, which contributes to the resource shift and the generation of added value in the bioeconomy model region by using local renewable raw materials for the production of pharmacological active ingredients and intermediates/ polymers .
